After a heartbreaking loss in the Opening Verse Handicap against older horses, losing by a head to Wind Walker at Churchill Downs June 18th, River Dancer looks to fullfill the promise trainer Lanfranco believes he has, by taking on his own age group in the La Jolla Handicap to be run at Del Mar on August 13th.
............................
River Dancer was given some time off after the tough defeat in the opening Verse and Lanfranco believes he has come back looking very fit and thinks he will do very well on Saturday. Lanfranco is a bit worried however as he saw Real Bull return to the races with a fourth place finish in the Grade II National Museum of Racing HOF run recenlty at Saratoga. He believes that his horses are not running as well as he would like.
............................
He's hoping that River Dancer can end his losing streak on Saturday and give him only his third stakes victory and second Graded victory. Lanfranco is quietly confident as he believes that River Dancer is coming into the race just the way he wants.
............................
Stay tuned as we find out if River Dancer can win one for Lanfranco Stable.
