Lanfranco recently announced that he will sell 5 of his top horses in the upcoming auction to be held in June 2006. The last auction saw Lanfranco sell his Preakness winner, Real Bull for $751.00. This auction he will sell another one of his top horses, Walking on Air along with Merlins Dancer, Run Like Mad, Desert Light and River Dancer. This could be the end of the Lanfranco Stable at Horseracingpark.com. Since the false news of his death was announced last October, Lanfranco has become more and more invisible in the game. Some are speculating that this could be the end of the line for Lanfranco. He won the first ever Handicapping Contest held at Horseracingpark.com and won some big races shocking the HRP world when his Real Bull won the Preakness Stakes.
Is this the end of Lanfranco? A close friend of his has said that Lanfranco is burned out from playing these online games and needs some time off. Lanfranco won more that $60,000.00 at UnrealRacing.com before that site folded. Some were hoping that Lanfranco would challenge the best players at HRP, but learning the HRP game has seemd to be difficult for Lanfranco.
We can only hope that Lanfranco returns soon to HRP. He's known to be a fierce competitor and would surely be missed if he decides to quit.
